Doctor Doom is preparing to make his grand entrance in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, with publisher Dotemu teasing a new premium expansion launching later in 2026.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom will introduce a new game mode centred around the notorious Fantastic Four villain, as well as two additional playable characters. Precisely who those characters will be remains a mystery, although Doom’s arrival is likely to inspire plenty of speculation among Marvel fans.

Only a teaser image has been released so far, but Dotemu and developer Tribute Games have promised to reveal more about the expansion ahead of its autumn launch.
The Siege of Castle Doom will be released for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is described as premium DLC, although pricing and an exact release date have not yet been confirmed.
Doctor Doom is coming to Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an arcade-style beat ‘em up inspired by classic Marvel comics and animated adventures. The game has now attracted more than 1.5 million players and was also nominated at the D.I.C.E. Awards.
The main campaign follows a galaxy-wide assault led by Annihilus, who unleashes the Annihilation Wave and threatens to wipe out all life in the universe. Heroes from Earth and across the cosmos must work together to stop him, along with a collection of familiar villains including Thanos, M.O.D.O.K. and Taskmaster.
Players can choose from a roster of 17 Marvel heroes and select two characters to take into battle. The Cosmic Swap system allows players to switch between their chosen heroes in the middle of a fight, combining their abilities and attacks to deal with groups of enemies and powerful bosses.
The arrival of two more playable characters in The Siege of Castle Doom will take the roster to 19, but Dotemu is currently keeping their identities under wraps.
Tribute Games and Dotemu previously worked together on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, another retro-inspired brawler designed to capture the feel of classic arcade games while introducing more modern combat mechanics.
Doctor Doom certainly seems like a natural fit for that style of game. Between his army of Doombots, command of Latveria and enormous castle packed with technology and magical artefacts, there should be no shortage of material for a new mode.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom launches on PC and consoles in autumn 2026.
