Valve opens waiting list for Steam Frame, starting at $1059

Valve has opened a waiting list for its new VR system, Steam Frame.

There are two models available - the 256GB and a 1TB headset - both of which sport 4 nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 - ARM64, 16GB of RAM, and come with two controllers and Half-Life: Alyx included. Neither ships with a power supply.

The cheaper model will cost $1,059 (£889), while the 1TB model is on sale for $1,299 (£1089).

Valve announced three new hardware products - the Steam Frame VR headset and controllers, a new Steam controller, and a next-gen Steam Machine - last year. Its new wireless VR headset, Steam Frame, will support Android games as it uses the same Android APKs developers already use to port mobile titles to Android-based devices like Meta Quest.

News of Valve's new VR system comes on the back of notable VR developer, Polyarc Games, shutting down after 12 years in operation.
