Nintendo Switch 2 Price Australia: Every Option and Deal in 2026

Seventy dollars can buy a lot of things, but it’s also the exact gap between what you thought a Nintendo Switch 2 cost and what it actually costs now. Nintendo revised the Switch 2’s Australian price in September, jumping from AU$699.95 to AU$769.95, and if you’ve been holding off on buying, that delay just got expensive.

Between bundles, hard-to-find special editions, retailer sales and Black Friday on 27 November, working out the right number to pay isn’t obvious anymore. This is our Nintendo Switch 2 price Australia 2026 guide: exactly what you’ll spend, and where.

Every Nintendo Switch 2 Price and Bundle in Australia

There are five ways to buy a Switch 2 in Australia right now, though two of them are already hard to find.

Nintendo Switch 2 Console: AU$769.95

No bundled game here. The Nintendo Switch 2 Australia price is AU$769.95 at Nintendo’s own store, but EB Games currently has it on sale for AU$728, or AU$698 for EB World PLUS members. JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman both limit it to one unit per customer. For most buyers, this is the right entry point unless one of the bundles below already includes a game you were planning to buy anyway.

Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition: AU$799.95 (Limited Stock)

A special edition tied to the Zelda franchise’s 40th anniversary, launching 29 October 2026. Pre-orders sold out within hours at the My Nintendo Store on 9 September, and Nintendo Australia no longer lists it on its hardware page. EB Games still lists a pre-order for EB World PLUS members, so that’s the one to check. If you missed out, watch for restocks around launch day, and steer clear of marketplace sellers charging well above the AU$799.95 RRP.

Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle: AU$814.95

On sale since 22 October 2026, while supplies last. Big W and Target already have it at AU$799, while JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and EB Games sit at or near the AU$814.95 RRP. Every version includes a three-month Nintendo Switch Online code. At AU$45 over the standalone console, the premium covers Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Target sells the game on its own for AU$79, so the bundle works out cheaper if you want both.

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle: AU$839.95

The priciest option, and also a limited production run. A fresh batch is on pre-order for 29 October at JB Hi-Fi, Big W, The Good Guys and EB Games, and EB’s version also comes with three months of Nintendo Switch Online. Mario Kart World, which we rated a knockout addition to the franchise, is exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, so if it’s on your list regardless, the AU$70 difference over the base console makes this the more economical path.

Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokémon Pokopia Bundle: AU$769.95

The Pokopia bundle launched on 5 June 2026 priced at AU$769.95, which was AU$70 more than the console at the time. Since the September price rise, it costs the same as the console on its own, which makes it the best-value bundle if you can find one. Most retailers have sold out, but Big W still lists it at AU$769, so check stock before you plan around it.

Where to Buy at the Current Price

Looking for the Nintendo Switch 2 best price in Australia? Right now it’s at EB Games, where the console is on sale for AU$728, or AU$698 for EB World PLUS members. Most other retailers sit within a few dollars of the AU$769.95 RRP. Here’s what each major retailer was charging when we checked on 23 October 2026:

Retailer Console + Sports Resort + Mario Kart World EB Games AU$728(AU$698 with PLUS) AU$814.95 AU$839.95(pre-order) Target AU$766 AU$799 n/a Officeworks AU$766 n/a n/a Harvey Norman AU$768 AU$814 AU$838 JB Hi-Fi AU$769 AU$814 AU$839(pre-order) Big W AU$769 AU$799 AU$839(pre-order) The Good Guys AU$769 n/a AU$839(pre-order) My Nintendo Store AU$769.95 AU$814.95 AU$839.95

Prices are moving quickly in the lead-up to Black Friday, so check the retailer’s page before you buy.

Nintendo Switch 2 Black Friday 2026: What to Expect

Black Friday lands on 27 November 2026, and if last year is any guide, it’s the best time of year to buy. In 2025, most major Australian retailers took around AU$60 off the Switch 2. Target sold the console for AU$639 and the Mario Kart World bundle for AU$715, while Big W charged AU$646 and AU$716 during a sale that ran from 20 November to 3 December.

No retailer has announced its 2026 Switch 2 deals yet, but prices have already started to dip. Big W, JB Hi-Fi and Amazon all sold the console for AU$699 at points this month, and EB Games’ current AU$728 sale is the lowest live price we found for non-members.

Our advice: if you need a Switch 2 for Christmas and see it at AU$699 or less, that’s a bigger discount off RRP than last year’s Black Friday deals offered, so there’s little reason to wait. If you’re after a bundle, Black Friday is worth holding out for, since last year’s Mario Kart World bundle deals took a similar amount off.

Second-Hand and Refurbished Switch 2 Prices

EB Games sells refurbished Switch 2 consoles for AU$698, or AU$668 for EB World PLUS members. That’s about AU$70 under the RRP, but EB’s own sale on new consoles is only AU$30 more right now, so new is the better buy while that sale lasts.

What the AU$769.95 Gets You

The hardware is a meaningful step up from the original Switch. The screen grows to 7.9 inches with full HD 1080p in handheld mode, while the console keeps the same thickness as its predecessor.

Internal storage hits 256GB, which is eight times what the original Switch shipped with. Docked, it reaches up to 4K at 60fps, and compatible games and TVs can push 120fps at lower resolutions. VRR support is handheld-only for now, though HDR works in both handheld and docked mode when connected to a compatible TV.

Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically rather than sliding on rails, and either one can work as a mouse when slid across a flat surface, opening up control options for compatible titles. A second USB-C port on top of the console means you can charge during tabletop play without rerouting cables.

Worth budgeting for before you commit: storage expansion needs microSD Express cards rather than standard microSD, and a 256GB SanDisk card costs AU$79.95 at the My Nintendo Store. A Pro Controller 2 is AU$119.95, a spare Joy-Con 2 pair is AU$139.95, and Nintendo Switch Online runs AU$29.95 a year, or AU$59.95 with the Expansion Pack.

On the software side, the console is backward compatible with the Nintendo Switch library, though Nintendo notes some titles may not be fully compatible. Nintendo Switch 2 also opens up Nintendo GameCube games through a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. GameChat, which supports face-to-face video via the console’s camera or a compatible USB-C camera, was free without a Nintendo Switch Online membership through 31 March 2026; a membership has been required since.

About the September 2026 Price Revision

Nintendo Australia announced the revision on 8 May 2026 and put it into effect from 1 September 2026, moving the RRP from AU$699.95 to AU$769.95. Pricing for the original Switch didn’t change.

Nintendo’s own explanation, published in its official price revision notice, cited “various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term,” with no further detail given publicly. That framing lines up with a broader pattern across the console industry this year: rising memory and component costs have pushed hardware prices up well beyond just the Switch 2. At AU$70, the Nintendo Switch 2 price increase Australia saw is still a meaningful jump, and anyone who bought before September at the original price got the better deal.

How the Switch 2 Price Compares to PS5 and Xbox

At AU$769.95, the Switch 2 still undercuts every PS5 and the Xbox Series X in Australia, though the Xbox Series S is cheaper at AU$699 for the 512GB model. Xbox Series X went through its own price rise in August 2026, part of a pattern Microsoft has repeated more than once this generation, and now lists at AU$1,099.

The PS5 Digital Edition sits at AU$919.95 and the disc model at AU$999.95. Based on the Nintendo Switch 2 Australia price 2026 shoppers are paying, Nintendo’s console lands between the Series S and the PS5, and its portability and exclusive library are what continue to set it apart.

Is a Bundle Worth It?

The Mario Kart World bundle makes sense if the game was already on your list. Paying AU$839.95 for console plus game beats buying both separately. The Sports Resort bundle, on sale since 22 October 2026, follows the same logic: the game costs AU$79 on its own at Target, more than the AU$45 bundle premium.

The Pokopia bundle is the standout value right now, since it costs the same as the console on its own. The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition is a collector’s purchase more than a value one, and with pre-orders this scarce, it’s only worth chasing if you’re set on that design.

What to Buy Before Nintendo Switch 2 Runs Out of Stock

The Mario Kart World bundle and the Sports Resort bundle are both flagged as limited production or while-supplies-last items, and the Pokopia bundle is already down to a single major retailer. The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition has sold out at the My Nintendo Store. If one of the bundles is your preferred option, waiting for Black Friday is a bigger risk than it is with the standard console.

The standard console comes with a one-unit-per-customer limit at JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman, which tells us demand is still strong at retail.

FAQs: Things to Know About Nintendo Switch 2 in Australia

We get asked the same handful of questions about this price change, so here’s a quick rundown before you decide.

How Much Is the Nintendo Switch 2 in Australia Now?

The standard console has had an AU$769.95 RRP since 1 September 2026, though EB Games currently has it for AU$728.

Why Did Nintendo Raise the Switch 2’s Price?

Nintendo’s official reason was “various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term.” The wider industry backdrop is rising memory and component costs, which have pushed console prices up across the board this year, not just for the Switch 2.

Can I Still Buy a Switch 2 at the Old AU$699.95 Price?

Not at RRP, but sales have matched it. EB World PLUS members can buy it for AU$698 right now, and Big W, JB Hi-Fi and Amazon all dropped it to AU$699 at points in October.

Is a Bundle a Better Deal Than Buying the Console and Game Separately?

Usually, if the bundled game (Mario Kart World, Sports Resort or Pokémon Pokopia) was already on your list. Bundling saves money over buying both separately.

Will the Nintendo Switch 2 Be on Sale for Black Friday?

Very likely. Most major Australian retailers took around AU$60 off the console for Black Friday 2025, and 2026 deals should land in the week leading up to 27 November.

The Bottom Line

The Nintendo Switch 2’s Australian price of AU$769.95 is higher than it was before September, but it still undercuts the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and the hardware backs that price up. If you don’t need a specific bundle, the standard console is the simplest buy, and EB Games’ AU$728 sale or a Black Friday deal will save you more. If a bundle already includes a game you wanted, buying it as a set still works out cheaper than buying the console and game separately.
